When i say "easy" i mean waking up at the crack of dawn to take 390 kg of asbestos shingles to the dump. This will be my last trip for a while until i start on the basement drywall and i think the bags will be lighter when i do that so i am pretty happy. Wow. What a week. I am not sure what i am most excited about: the first look at rough plans or the fact that i don't have to take off any more asbestos shingles. Saturday started with a quick trip to the dump to drop off another 345 kg of shingles. My plan of starting the bagging last weekend, doing a bit more during the week, and loading the car friday night (what else am i going to be doing? This weekend i got the shingles off the bottom of the addition including in our shed. All that is left is the top half of the back of the house (well, and the east wall, but that is a stretch goal). Because the weather looked to finally be dry and Sarah had Saturday off, we had booked to go out to Reifel Bird Sanctuary on and drop off a load of shingles at the Vancouver Landfill in Delta afterwards.
