Weeks 105 & 106: Weather & Holiday

January 2, 2023 by Rob Leave a Comment

Happy new year! Sarah and i left town for a week and went to the island to visit family and friends and spent a quiet Christmas in Ucluelet on the west coast of Vancouver Island. The building crew was going to be putting up the rafters for the roof but the weather did not co-operated and it dropped to -16 and the city was paralysed with snow. Dean texted me to let me know … [Read more...] about Weeks 105 & 106: Weather & Holiday

They put jacks into the cribbing on platforms they built with huge beams just pushed through the cribs. These are all hooked up to the truck and i guess that synchronizes everything. They lifted it … [Read more...] about Week 101: The eagle has landed!

Week 100: Ready to Drop

November 27, 2022 by Rob Leave a Comment

So we didn't get the house down on the foundation this week, but we are all set for Monday. The guy from Nickel Brothers came by and got Dean and his guys to add a bit of bracing across the front but that was about it. Dean's crew kept busy working on the deck and addition framing and i was surprised to see a set of stairs! They are only temporary but it was pretty … [Read more...] about Week 100: Ready to Drop
