I am sure this was not a fun week for the builders but i am pretty happy to see wood arriving. Drains wrapped up early in the week and we passed inspection so were able to start on the backfill. This made an amazing difference to the feel of the place as we can now walk around it much more easily. The house is no longer sitting in a big hole and, at least from the outside, the foundation walls don't seem as tall. The damp proofing got inspected so now we are starting on the perimeter drains. It started with bringing in a bunch of gravel and now all the pipes are getting bedded in. This all has to be properly sloped towards the front and is much more complex than just gluing up a bunch of pipes.
