Weeks 87 to 89: Ontario

September 12, 2022 by Rob Leave a Comment

This was a hard few weeks. Sarah's father passed on August 26th with her mum at his side. He had chosen MAID (Medical Assistance in Dying) which was a little surreal and a new experience for all of us. The doctor and nurse were amazing and it was very peaceful but all of that makes it no less hard. We are now building instead of demolishing. And it is a lot of building. It all has to be at the right height and level across the entire site. It also has to be strong enough to not … [Read more...] about Week 84: Footing Forming

Weeks 81-83: Wedding & Hike

August 1, 2022 by Rob Leave a Comment

One of the things we are learning is that everything takes more time than you expect. I had it in my head that the excavation would take a week. Turns out that there there is more to work out than we thought. First thing we have realized is that there is not enough grade for the exterior drainage from the basement entrance patio at the back of the place. We had a quick … [Read more...] about Weeks 81-83: Wedding & Hike
