The Reno Diary

Kitchen reno gone wild

What have we been up to

We will try and document what gets done every week. It won't always be exciting or glamorous.

Week 114: Short but Suite

February 26, 2023 by Rob Leave a Comment

Oh dear. Sorry about that title. I must be tired. Actually, to tell the truth I am. I spent a big chunk of the weekend at the house pitching in on labour so that the professionals can do what they do best. It was family day on Monday so it was only 4 days of work for the builders. The suite is fully framed now and the wonky wall up through the middle has been rebuilt so … [Read more...] about Week 114: Short but Suite

The sewer hookup didn't wrap up until Tuesday and asphalt was done Wednesday. For some reason the street is still blocked this weekend but just where they lay down their asphalt. I am not sure how long it takes to "cure". Maybe they forgot about the barricades. The sewer work set us back a bit because we needed another load of gravel dropped out front for the slab prep and … [Read more...] about Week 111: Ready to pour the slab

Week 110: Slab prep and sewer!

January 29, 2023 by Rob 2 Comments

I know that things have been moving along the entire project but it is much more visible now and it really feels like there is momentum. The changes are visible and i really understand how they move us all forward. Maybe that is my wishful thinking because we now have to be in by April 1st. Every day counts. Monday we passed our plumbing inspection. We had the wrong … [Read more...] about Week 110: Slab prep and sewer!
