Kitchen reno gone wild

What have we been up to

We will try and document what gets done every week. It won't always be exciting or glamorous.

Week 109: Plumbing & Flooring

January 29, 2023 by Rob 2 Comments

The start of the week the team finished up the roof decking so the dining area is now enclosed. The problem is that the weather has be wet so the roofing guy has been delayed so we didn't get the actual roofing done. For now we have covered it with a tarp and we are hoping for better weather and for the roofing guy to catch up on his backlog. Week 108: More roof & plumbing details

The building crew was going to be putting up the rafters for the roof but the weather did not co-operated and it dropped to -16 and the city was paralysed with snow. Dean texted me to let me know … [Read more...] about Weeks 105 & 106: Weather & Holiday

One of the features of our renovation is that our laundry/mechanical room is mostly under our deck. This means we have a flat roof and i learned this week that a flat roof is anything but flat. I had anticipated that the entire thing would just slope away from the house but it is actually a lot more complex than that. The roof has two drainage points so slopes in two … [Read more...] about Week 103: Deck roof
