Kitchen reno gone wild

What have we been up to

We will try and document what gets done every week. It won't always be exciting or glamorous.

Week 97: Sistering Joists

November 7, 2022 by Rob Leave a Comment

I am sure this was not a fun week for the builders but i am pretty happy to see wood arriving. You might recall that because we moved the load bearing wall in the basement we need to sister up and extend the flooring joists on the west side of the basement so that they extend to the new wall. This finally happened. You might also remember that my father and I glued … [Read more...] about Week 97: Sistering Joists

Week 96: Backfill

Drains wrapped up early in the week and we passed inspection so were able to start on the backfill. Even the forming was being built only to be stripped off once the pour was … [Read more...] about Week 94: Damp Proofing

Forming wrapped up early in the week and the concrete arrived Friday. The crew had issues with the pump and had to wait for a part so they got started late and worked past sundown. I have a few … [Read more...] about Week 93: Pour 2
