It finally feels like things are getting rolling. The man came and measured the house last Tuesday. It wasn’t one of those 3d scan things that i thought it would be which was a bit disappointing. Apparently those are not great at determining the height of windows so the guy used a laser measuring tape. Sarah and I were on and off calls while he was here and trying to keep our covid distance so didn’t get a look at everything he did. I assume he took note of where the plugs and switches are as well but I guess we will see when we get the drawings. The as-built drawings are the starting point for the architect and once he has them we can do the fun part of the planning. Not sure if that has to wait until the survey is done but at least things are rolling.
I put in a couple of more sessions taking down shingles in the rain. Sarah was at work so i avoided ladder work and just did stuff that was easier to get at. Today i was only out there for about an hour until i was soaked. I think another 6 to 8 sessions and i could actually be done but that might be optimistic. The shingles left on the west side are all up the ladder and are going to be a lot of work. And that back of the house is going to need a harness at the top because it is like 40 feet up. Next weekend if the weather is good on Sunday we will take a break and go out to Reifel with a stop at the dump on the way back.
