In the interest of not killing myself trimming drywall i got back outside for a bit and finally finished up the tree barriers. It always amazes me how long some of this stuff takes with measuring and cutting and figuring things out. I guess the pros have a system but Ric and i banged in the posts where it was convenient to not damage plants and we didn’t exactly square everything off. I am also using salvaged lumber for the most part so trying to optimize the pieces is another DIY time waster. I think what i had originally planned for a light morning took most of the day
I also spent more time in the basement cutting down drywall. I have learned to do this in sessions of about 90 minutes each with a break between tackling another job or sometimes just collapsing. The challenge with nasty jobs like this though is that you have to get all geared up and you get so dusty doing it, that you need to shower afterwards. For efficiency i just want to keep going but i just can’t. It is also not the sort of job you can just do when you have a spare 10 minutes like you can with a typical crowbar job. This can’t end soon enough.
In amongst the sessions of gross work i also got another load of garbage off to the dump. Demolition continues in various corners of the basement and Sarah is digging up plants, packing, and prepping for an interview for a permanent job on Friday. Amongst all of that we are also packing and labelling for the container being delivered Monday and moving next weekend.
