Not much going on this week. The kids headed back to Montreal and Sarah is still coughing and tired. We have had a really busy year and their visit was the last big event.
Forming wrapped up early in the week and the concrete arrived Friday. The crew had issues with the pump and had to wait for a part so they got started late and worked past sundown. I have a few concerns about them rushing the finishing and hope we get a decent job. Tough thing to do over.
Saturday i hiked the back route in Coliseum to wrap up my hiking season. It was a total of 20 km cycling and about 15 km of hiking with 1500m gain. It was way hotter than it should have been this late in the season and i ran out of water. While there is usually decent water to filter at the top, after the summer we have had it was dried out and pretty gross. I filled my filter bottle just to be safe but didn’t actually drink any because i didn’t want to clog the filter with the murky water. Felt pretty dumb knowing i had a spare water bottle waiting in the car. I managed to keep hydrated with blueberries.
Spent a nice Thanksgiving with Dorothy and Ian who were passing through town. It is strange not to have room to host guests and we had such a busy summer we hardly saw them. We usually camp with them at least once and used to holiday with them regularly when the kids were young.
