Drains wrapped up early in the week and we passed inspection so were able to start on the backfill.
This made an amazing difference to the feel of the place as we can now walk around it much more easily. The house is no longer sitting in a big hole and, at least from the outside, the foundation walls don’t seem as tall.
The machines were back levelling everything out and they trenched in the electrical service as well. I think we are finally done with the excavators. I was happy to see that Dean the builder built protective covers for the fancy forming so that we don’t trash our concrete by accident.
We got out of town on the weekend and went up to Kamloops before the weather turns. It was really nice to get away and out of the basement suite. We managed to catch the end of the salmon run on Adams River with Dorothy and Ian and went to the Rocky Horror Picture Show with Don and Jamie.
